The second oldest route for P&O Ferries. Originally being operated by North Sea Ferries from 1965, North Sea Ferries was a joint venture between up to six companies in the beginning with P&O having a 35% share. Today the route is 100% owned and operated by P&O Ferries with two large purpose built cruise-ferries.
The timetable has not altered since the beginning, with sailings left nightly at 19:30 with arrivals the next day at 08:00.
Sailings are typically 14 hours in length, with sailings during refit season (January/February) being every other night. The ships operating on the route currently are:
Tip: Boarding begins at 17:00 and operates continually throughout the evening. If you arrive, you can board the ship and settle in your cabin and have a meal all before the ship sails.
