The mv European Endeavour returned to Dover in 2008 after two years of absence. However back in 2006 when she sailed away the ship was in Norfolkline colours and wore the name of mv Midnight Merchant. P&O purchased the vessel with the intial intention of provding refit relief cover for the fleet. This however began as planned with the ship covering the Liverpool to Dublin route, however shortly after her arrival in Dover the mv Pride of Canterbury was damaged following striking an underwater object. This meant the mv Pride of Canterbury was later withdrawn from service.
